In Stubbs The Zombie:
In Stubbs the Zombie, the player plays zombies and the main goal is to kill people and eat their brains. Brain consumption restores a certain amount of lost health to the player, as well as turning these people into zombies, making them fight alongside the player. The player has the choice of either killing an enemy with melamine blows or turning him into a zombie. Stubbs’ status as a zombie prevents him from using conventional weapons and instead uses a variety of improvised weapons and combat techniques, most of which are executed with a specific part of the body, such as explosives or improvised devices. Stubbs can drive a variety of vehicles, such as cars, tractors, and tanks. All of the temporary weapons listed above, except Stubbs’ Hand, have the ability to turn the people they kill into zombies.
In 1933, Edward “Stubbs” Staplefield was a poor street vendor during the Great Depression, trying to make a living. He temporarily finds happiness with a girl named Maggie on Monday but meets his unhappy end when Otis, Maggie’s father, returns home and kills him, and throws his body in the desert. As he fought, devouring political minds, Stubbs killed Otis on Monday by blowing up his house after a brief meeting. Shortly before that, in a shed (a parody of the Patton war movie), Stubbs stands in front of the American flag hanging on the barn wall and gives a speech to the zombies.
Punchbowl is a futuristic retro city that looks like the future as portrayed in the media in the 1950s and features hovercraft, laser guns, monophonic rails, and robots. The Punchbowl was designed and funded by Andrew Monday and created by a team of scientists led by former Nazi scientist Dr. Hermann Way. Stubbs the Zombie was the first Wideload game since its inception. The company’s founder, Alex Seropian, co-founded and partnered with Bungie and used the production as an experiment to determine how to conduct an independent study. Game development began with a team of twelve, but Seropian decided to bring in contractors who increased the number to sixty. This decision led to difficulties when the recruitment process was not properly monitored, leaving the producer group close and lacking coherence.
